When Tenants Pay All Arrears

Purpose

In this procedure, the Tenant who was in arrears pays all money owing and the Property Management Administrator withdraws any order for possession.  This procedure starts when the Tenant pays all arrears.  It ends when the Property Management Administrator sends a statement to the Tenant.

If a tenant pays all arrears it is important to acknowledge this payment and withdraw any orders for possession.

Procedure

Property Management Administrator

• Receives payment of all arrears from the Tenant
• Notifies the Property Management Consultant
• Sends a statement to the Tenant
• Records the payment in the Tenants Database

Property Manager

• If the company had issued a Termination of tenancy notice, acknowledges payment by visiting or telephoning the Tenant
• Notifies the Senior Property Management Consultant
• Stops action on any Tenancy Tribunal hearing or order for possession (Sends  the withdrawal notice on back of the hearing application form by fax)
